What is Chainlink
LINK is the token of Chainlink, an oracle network running since May 2019 that connects smart contracts to external data and systems: node operators are paid in LINK for those services. It is an ERC-677 token (compatible with ERC-20) created on the Ethereum network in September 2017, which also circulates on other networks, and its supply is capped at 1 billion units.
