VET is the currency of VeChainThor, VeChain’s blockchain, running since 2018; transaction fees on the network are paid with a second token, VTHO. Since the Hayabusa upgrade in December 2025 the network has been secured by delegated proof of stake, in which VET is staked, and its supply is fixed at 86,712,634,466 units.
